When There's More To Life Than Comic Books

There's some joker who has started up a chapter of the Sons of Lee Marvin and stipulated that prospective members can have no more then one cat.

Fuck you.

All right! I was just starting to feel a little disenchanted with an extra special secret project I'm working on when I got smacked in the face with some new developments. Everything's looking peachy-keen.

Every time I post here I mean to delve into the major events of my personal life to keep my friends and family informed. Then I find a blog devoted to Kaiju and I realize I'm being selfish in subjecting my readership to my own insignificance.

The other night I had a dream where I was training at a new job and was being shown around by a woman who worked there. Just minutes after I met her she started aggressively flirting with me, and as we moved through the rooms she lost more and more clothing until she was in a tiny bikini, and even that was shrinking. She started attacking me, and the little scraps of cloth that were left of her bikini were slipping off her gargantuan breasts. Someone came to the door and was startled by what they saw, but she just snarled at them.

I never have dreams like this. I was thinking about it as I was walking around downtown, then I started thinking about the recent passing of Russ Meyer, director of such movies as Beyond the Valley of the Dolls and Faster Pusseycat, Kill, Kill. It was then that I realized that this vivid, disturbing dream was just my way of dealing with the loss of this legendary cult film director.

Thanks for the mammaries, Russ.

The John K. debate has taken over my life.

Two interesting threads over at Animation Nation have been moved from the General forum to one called Side Topics, presumably because they are inflammatory and inconsequential, when in fact they're more jam-packed with rich animation theory then any dozen threads on the same board. Due to this, a number of the most intelligent posters are moving along, which will only decrease the potential of that forum.

Happily, all is not lost. Cartoonretro keeps the flame alight with their own sparkling conversation. If you're interested in animation in any capacity, I strongly suggest checking it out.

Whew. I've been on a hiatus, punk rock-style. Been to a number of shows, trying to squeeze even a little bit of that ska magic out of various bad skacore bands. Oh, the folly of youth.

I think I'm going to catch some more sleep now. Tonight's yet another non-stop dance fest.

Whoa! Another John K. link! What a surprise! Courtesy of Cartoon Brew, who are the best, ever.

Sorry I don't have enough time to post something other then another John K. ass-kissing. I'd really like to devote some space to dissecting the things he's said so far, but that just isn't likely to happen.

Just so you know, this is a kind of placeholder blog for me to while away the time while I work on my own, for real website with blog and everything. Hold onto your hats!

"Canada, for some reason," said this spokesman, "has never nominated or elected a President of the United States. We feel this, if not sheer discrination, at least is a bono fide oversight."

I had no idea that Bryan Singer contributed voice work to Jaws in 30 seconds, re-enacted by bunnies. Live and learn.

"Ever watch Ren & Stimpy?"
"Can't say that I have, although years ago at a school picnic I remember some of my students wearing badly drawn T-Shirts with those words on them."

-From the novel Midnight Mass by F. Paul Wilson.
